Abstract

An ovarian cyst is a tumor, whether small or large, cystic or solid, benign or malignant. The high incidence rate at RSUP Dr.Sardjito during the last 3 month (February to April 2022) reache 36 incidence. Management in the healing of ovarian cysts is a laparotomy to remove the cyst that causes pain sensation. One application of non-pharmacological therapy for pain management is deep breathing relaxation techniques. This case study aims to describe the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain in postoperative ovarian cyst patients in Ward Bugenvil II Dr.Sardjito Hospital. Deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain in Mrs. M with postoperative of ovarian cysts with data obtained directly from case study subjects through interviews, observations, and secondary data. The instruments used were SOP for deep breathing relaxation techniques and observation sheets for pain assessment scales NRS (Numeric Ratting Scale). Application of deep breathing relaxation techniques during the intervention for 4 consecutive days could reduce pain in post ovarium cyst surgary patients from a scale of 6 to a scale of 3 (0-10). Deep breathing relaxation techniques can reduce pain in postoperative ovarian cyst patients.
