Abstract

Fractur is a term for loss of continuity of bone, both total and partial. The impact of the fracture will cause pain due to the fracture as well as the management of surgical therapy. Non-pharmacological pain management can help pharmacological therapy. One of them by giving a cold compress. Cold compresses in postoperative fracture patients because cold compresses can reduce bleeding, edema which causes an analgesic effect. To describe how to reduce pain intensity with cold compresses in post operative patients with orif fracture of the tibia dextra. Data collection by interview and observation. Giving a cold compress procedure there is a decrease in pain scale before and being given cold compresses given 2 times a day for 3 days on 19-21 April 2022. Implementation carried out for 3 days in one respondent with postoperative pain with fractures there was a decrease in pain scale from a severe pain scale to a mild pain scale. Cold compresses can reduce the pain scale in postoperative closed fracture patients from severe pain to mild pain.
