Abstract

 

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that ranks 6th in the world. There continues to be an increase in cases of diabetes mellitus every year and many experience complications. According to research, foot exercise therapy is a non- pharmacological therapy that can accelerate blood circulation so that it can reduce blood sugar levels. To describe the application of foot exercise therapy toreduce blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus in the work area of the Pajangan Bantul Health Center. Using a descriptive method in the form of an approach to the application of nursing procedures. The application of foot exercise therapy was carried out for five days. During theassessment, it was found that both legs felt tingling, numb, hot, felt thirsty and hungry, felt weak during activities, the result was GDP of 102 mg/dL. After doing foot exercise therapy for five days, it wasfound that there was a decrease in fasting blood sugar levels of 88 mg/dL and the perceived complaints had decreased. Foot exercise therapy can reduce fasting blood sugar levels if done regularly and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
