Abstract

Nephrotic syndrome is damage to the kidneys that causes protein levels in the urine to increase. One that can stimulate the pain that is often experienced while in the hospital, especially in children is invasive medical procedures. The use of non-pharmacological methods to overcome pain problems in children is easier and can be done by nurses. One that is widely used in non-pharmacological methods is the distraction technique. To describe efforts to reduce pain due to invasive procedures with distraction techniques playing games in children with nephrotic syndrome at Dr Sardjito Hospital. Collection methods used in this scientific paper include interviews, observation. The results of the case study implementation of the distraction technique playing games when invasive measures were performed on the first day of intervention before being given the distraction technique got a pain scale of 6 (Wong Baker-FACES), whereas when invasive measures were performed and simultaneously given a distraction technique on the second intervention day, the scale was obtained. 4 (Wong Baker-FACES), and the third intervention day obtained a scale of 3 (Wong Baker-FACES). Distraction techniques by playing games can reduce pain reduction when invasive infusion is performed on respondents with nephrotic syndrome in the Indraprasta ward, Dr. Sardjito.
