IMPLEMENTASI PEMBERIAN KOMPRES HANGAT PADA LEHER TERHADAP PENURUNAN INTENSITAS NYERI KEPALA PADA PASIEN HIPERTENSI DI RSUP DR. SARDJITO YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure in the arteries. In general, the optimal pressure is 120/80 mmHg, while the pressure that is considered hyepertension is more than 140/90 mmHg (Smeltzer, 2010). Based on data on hypertensive patients at RSUP DR.Sardjito Yogyakarta, starting from January 25 2021 to April 04 2022, 43 people suffer from hypertension. Headache is pain felt in patients with blood pressure >140/90 mmHg. A warm compress is an action to treat pain through conduction with a temperature of 45-50oC so that it can reduce pain and provide a sense of comfort. To get an onverview of the implementation of giving warm compresses to the neck to recude headache intensity in hypertension patients at RSUP DR.Sardjito Yogyakarta. Used is descriptive method by interview, observation and measurement of pain intensity, physical examination and documentation. After the interview of warm compresses for 3 days, the average value of the decrease in pain intensity on the first day was 2,the second day was 1.5 and the third day was 1.5. The average result of pain reduction in 3 days is 1.6. Giving a warm compress to the neck can reduce hypertensive headaches in CKD patients.
