Abstract

Gastritis is an inflammatory process of inflammation caused by irritation and infection factors and occurs in the gastric mucosa and submucosa. Several conditions are complex and interrelated. Conditions that cause gastritis are physical trauma, stress, and irregular eating patterns. Stress affects the recurrence of gastritis because prolonged stress can lead to an increase in gastric acid production. The incidence of gastritis in several regions in Indonesia is quite high with a percentage prevalence of 274,396 cases and in 2021 gastritis ranks 4th out of 10 most diseases in Kerinci Regency with a total of 4690 people. Based on data from the Semurup health center, gastritis sufferers increase every month, and gastritis is included in the 10 most common diseases in general polyclinics. The type of research used is descriptive-analytic using the Cross-Sectional approach, and the sampling method in this study uses the Accidental Sampling technique with a sample of 58 people. Then the data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis and then tested with the Chi-Square statistical test with a 95% confidence level = 0.05. The results showed that there was a relationship between Client Stress and Gasrtitis Recurrence with a p-Value = 0.020. gastritis is quite high at the Semurup Public Health Center, Kerinci Regency, so the researchers hope that this research can be a reference for health services to implement nursing care properly, especially regarding gastritis.
