Non-hemorrhagic stroke is the type of stroke caused by formation of a local thrombus or embolism that occurs in the cerebral arteries, it causing a lack of oxygen needed by brain tissue due to lack of blood flow into the brain. Non-hemorrhagic stroke patients experience weakness in their limbs, which inhibit their daily activities. Range Of Motion (ROM) is an exercise to maintain or improve the level of movement ability of joints or muscles normally and completely. This exercise will increase muscle mass and muscle tone. In addition, regular range of motion (ROM) exercises can prevent stroke patients from experiencing various complications such as pain due to pressure, contractures, thrombophlebitis, and pressure sores. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of range of motion (ROM) on muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. This study focusing in literature review using descriptive research in form of case studies or nursing care. The literature study showed an increase in muscle strength, 4 score in the first journal, while 6 score for the upper left extremity and 4 for the lower left extremity in the second journal. The effectiveness of ROM strength training is proven to increase muscle strength score in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.
