Background: Surgical procedures are one of the causes of anxiety in patients who are about to undergo surgery. Excessive anxiety experienced certainly has a negative impact on patients before undergoing surgery. Main symptoms: A 26-year-old patient is scheduled to undergo a cesarean section. The patient experienced very severe anxiety because she was afraid of the surgery to be undergone. Method: Case study of music relaxation therapy to reduce anxiety levels in patients before surgery. Measurement of anxiety levels was carried out twice, namely before and after the intervention using APAIS. Therapeutic Intervention: The researcher provided a 15-minute music relaxation therapy intervention to Mrs. E before surgery. The music used was a Christian spiritual song that had been agreed upon with the patient before the intervention was given. Results: There was a decrease in anxiety levels after music relaxation therapy, namely very severe anxiety (APAIS score 26) to severe anxiety (APAIS score 20). The decrease occurred in the patient's vital signs, namely blood pressure, pulse rate and pulse. Conclusion: Music relaxation therapy can be used as an alternative therapy to reduce anxiety in patients before surgery.
