PENERAPAN PIJAT OKSITOSIN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRODUKSI ASI PADA IBU POST PARTUM DENGAN VAKUM EKSTRAKSI DI RSUD SLEMAN

Abstract

In RSUD Sleman, the number of artificial deliveries including vacuum extraction in 2021 is around 172 deliveries. Postpartum mothers with vacuum extraction labor usually experience problems with milk production because of the inhibited oxytocin hormone. Therefore, an oxytocin massage action is needed which functions to stimulate the oxytocin hormone in the mother which can increase the mother's milk production after giving birth. This study aims to describe the application of oxytocin massage in increasing breast milk production in post partum mothers with Vacuum Extraction in Sleman Hospital. This research method uses a descriptive study with research subjects 1 patient postpartum mothers with vacuum extraction with inclusion criteria postpartum mothers with vacuum extraction on day 0 are willing to be respondents. The instruments used in this study included breast pumps, syringes, oxytocin massage SOPs, and observation sheets. The results showed that there was an increase between breast milk production before oxytocin massage and after oxytocin massage, which was originally 0 cc/ml milk production after oxytocin massage until day 2, milk production became 7.8 cc/ml. ml. This study shows that oxytocin massage can increase milk production in postpartum mothers with vacuum extraction.
