Abstract

Diabetes mellitus can interfere with physical health and cause psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety caused by physical disability, worries about complications, worries in choosing food, and demands that patients change their lifestyle. This will affects the subjective well-being of a person. This study aimed to identify a person's subjective well-being, identify complications prevention behavior, and analyze the relationship between subjective well-being and type 2 diabetes mellitus complication prevention behavior in the Madurejo Community Health Center.The research method used was a quantitative method with a descriptive correlation research design that uses a cross-sectional approach using a purposive sampling design with a total sample of 69 respondents. This measurement was carried out using a questionnaire sheet and the spearman rank test analysis. The results showed that 69 respondents, half of them 36 respondents (52.2%), had low subjective well-being and less complication prevention behavior, as many as 31 respondents (44.9%). Spearman rank test results 0.004 shows p <0.05, then H1 is accepted. There is a relationship between subjective well-being and the behavior of preventing complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus at Madurejo Public Health Center.
